an office consists of artists, activists, researchers, writers, designers and curators who met at the Salzburg Summer Academy in 2021 during the course “becoming lumbung” held by ruangrupa. Subverting and appropriating the capitalist and colonial institution of the office, the group works as a constellation of office departments that address issues of belonging, hospitality, performativity and care, among others.

Under the name an office, the group seeks to create a [play]ground for collaborative practices, figuring out ways of learning and unlearning together.
